Big…HUGE Changes!

2020 was the year that wasn’t, and yet it was EVERYTHING! It was all people talked about, and sadly, it was the year that brought great upheaval to millions of people around the world. I’m not going to get into that, instead I’ll purge a little about some changes in my neck of the woods.

I quit real estate. There, I said it, I am no longer a Realtor® and am in between careers at the moment. I am working PT for the family business, which is great, but still not “my” career. Until I find my niche in this crazy, chaotic world I will continue helping out at my family’s auto shop (we specialize in classic vehicle restorations and consignment sales, custom utility and cargo trailer sales, and we have a state licensed appraiser on staff).

Needless to say, this has been a huge change for me, as I have been in real estate nearly 10 years (in November). To say that I feel free and yet floundering is an understatement. My health has changed (getting older sucks) and it necessitated a drastic change in work environment to feel better. Honestly, real estate didn’t “light the fire,” so to speak, anymore and it was becoming more of a burden than a job I enjoyed and found gratifying. Thanks 2020 for opening my eyes to what potential lays before me, and to all of the things I have yet to do. I’m going to continue with my volunteer opportunities when we’re able to meet again, I am going to continue to offer home staging services to The Dalles public, and am looking forward to spending more time with my family, which is my ultimate driving goal.

Onward and upward, full speed ahead!
